Your eyes remain shut. You have prayed for salvation; for some sort of rescue from that hell you have endured; but even though the pain has gone, you do not yet trust this peace. Even in this state of complete darkness, you can feel something has changed, however. You are no longer smelling that awful stench. The hard ground beneath your body is gone, and you're spared from your tormentors' cruel mockery.
Instead, you now feel warm and comfortable. Your body floats weightlessly, and it seems as if a foreign, relaxing melody played from nowhere and everywhere at once. There is even a sweet, gentle smell in the air, something between vanilla and the fresh scent of a clear spring morning.
You can't really understand it, but what you are experiencing right now with all your senses calms you down almost immediately. For some reason, you feel safer and happier than you have been in ages. You dare not open your eyes yet, for you fear you are in a merciful, dream-like state and you do not want to shatter the illusion so soon. It simply feels too good, too pleasant.
"Denna... Oh, brave Denna. Open your eyes and look at me," a voice commands, sending shivers down your spine.
Even though it is a soft, feminine voice and the speaker utters her words gently, her voice reverberates with such awe-inspiring might that you can't help but feel intimidated by it. Nevertheless, you swiftly obey the order; by now your curiosity got the better of you, anyway.
You open your eyes slowly... And you gasp loudly as you behold the figure before you. It is an angel - there can be no doubt - in the shape of a beautiful, young woman. Her skin is rather pale, slightly cream-coloured and only overshadowed by the pristine whiteness of her light, fluttering robes, which revealed much of her heavenly body. She has the height of an average human woman and is relatively thin, but with well-shaped, if not overly large, female curves, in all the right places. Her divinity is unmistakably proven by not one, but several pairs of enormous, majestic wings sprouting from her body and the sheer aura of power and awe which she emanates.
"You... An angel?" You stammer, staring at the being.
"I am Salias, Goddess of Divine Light."
You shriek and fall down to your knees immediately. "F-Forgive my ignorance, my Goddess!"
As you are looking in the direction you perceive to be downwards, you see only a swirling mass of light clouds, broken by the odd bright ray of golden sunlight. This perspective makes you feel quite nauseous, so you close your eyes again. The Goddess giggles lightly, surprising you.
"Do not worry, mortal. To a mere human, the sight of a God must be like a mouse beholding a tiger. It won't fear it any more than the common house cat. Rise, oh brave Denna, for I have chosen to give you the chance to be my champion and hero."
You oblige without delay and stand back up, looking directly at Salias' mesmerizing face. Despite the overwhelming presence of her power, Salias has a surprisingly pretty, downright cute face, with very large, sapphire blue eyes, a short nose and a rather small mouth with full lips. Her lush, sandy blonde hair is extremely long and abundant and is drifting and swaying all over the place, not unlike the fabric of her robes.
"Did... Did they kill me? Am I dead?" You ask.
"No, and I don't think those humans intend to end your life. You are still down there, your face pressed against a foot-sole. It seems to me as though their plan is to imprison you and keep you as their foot-slave for as long as you live. What a pitiful fate for a human as promising as you are!"
You frown and remain silent.
"I have decided to intervene and offer you a way out, however."
You feel your heart flow over and so do your eyes. No longer being able to remain upright, you throw yourself down, and, despite not physically seeing a floor, the air beneath holds you up.
"My Goddess! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" You blurt.
As you remain in that humble position, Salias approaches you, more floating than walking, and you are shocked when you see the Goddess's feet appear in your field of vision. Fitting for such a divine being, Salias has by far the most beautiful and enticing feet you have ever seen. They are very slim and rather long, though not overly large in general, with very pronounced curves. Her toes are evenly sized and shaped, the big toes just a big larger than the rest, and with short, natural nails.
You hate to admit it, but having such wonderful feet so close to your face arouses you intensely. It becomes even more dramatic as you take a deep whiff and can clearly smell the divine feet of the Goddess! The sheer pungency of the scent shocks you.
To call such a heavenly aroma a "stench" would be sacrilegious to no end, but you have to admit that it is more than just noticeable, much stronger than you would imagine, for sure. It is a fragrant, cheesy scent very typical to smelly feet, but with a distinct, sweet note that you can't quite define. It is also stronger than perhaps any other feet you have ever smelled - and that from this distance!
After just one breath, you realize with great embarrassment and shock that you do not just like or enjoy this aroma... You absolutely love it for some reason! You are not sure if there is something inherently different about that scent - it still smells like ripe, cheesy feet first and foremost - or if it is just the fact that it is coming from a literal Goddess that causes this effect on you. Either way, you are in pure bliss as you steadily inhale the fragrant air above Salias' feet.
In fact, the smell is so intense that you are sure you wouldn't be able to stand having your face so close to its source if you did not enjoy it so.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," you keep muttering, but at this point, you are thanking the Goddess mainly for holding her perfect feet right under your face and allowing you to taste their aroma to your heart's desire.
"Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm. Your submissive obedience pleases me greatly, oh Denna," Salias speaks, her voice heavy with satisfaction and pride.
Salias begins rhythmically wiggling her beautiful toes, mesmerizing you with their movement and also fanning a warm, moist cloud of intensely pungent foot-stink right under your nose. Inhaling the heavenly treat greedily, you have to suppress a throaty moan as the scent clouds your mind. You realize that right now, there is nothing you want more in your life than those feet!
"Oh brave Denna, the time has come for you to make a choice. Get on your knees and look in my eyes," Salias now ordered. It takes you an immense amount of discipline to rise from the ground and get those otherworldly beautiful toes out of your field of vision.
Only the fear of making the Goddess wait causes you to act quickly now. As you kneel, you can still smell the aroma of Salias' feet, though naturally not nearly as strongly as before. Still, you take measured, deep breaths through your nose even now.
"You have two options. You can remain a mortal, a human just as you have been from the moment you were born. You will be back under your the feet of your Mistresses and have the prospect of slavery for life. In that case, I will release you, you will return and never receive help from anybody."
The Goddess speaks without much emotion in her voice, but your face falls as you listen to those words. Not even the sweet smell of the divine feet could manage to keep your spirits high. Just as you are about to beg, Salias cuts you off with the palm of her hand.
"Or. You can choose to pledge yourself to me. You will become my chosen champion, oh brave Denna, as it is my will and intention. Yet since I am most kind and merciful, I let the final say be yours."
You feel a rush of searing hot enthusiasm and determination.
"Of course I choose to become your champion, my Goddess!"
"Ahhh, not so hasty; you must know that such a position comes with a price, I will grant you powers, but not for free," Salias says.
You hesitate for a moment. "And what must I give in return?"
Salias bends down, bringing her face close to yours. Her blue pupils seem to shrink a bit as she stares you down with such intensity that you are frozen in shock.
"Everything," says Salias with great pathos, drawing out the word and making a dramatic pause.
What can you even say to that? What does it mean? "I already owe you my life," you say nervously, even though that is not technically true.
Salias sighs. "If you choose this path, you must offer me that life of yours and more. You must offer your life, your soul, even your humanity. Your very essence will be bound to me until you perish. Such a pact cannot be undone by anyone but myself, and certainly not by you. As a chosen champion of your Goddess, you will wholly and entirely belong to me, oh Denna."
Now it is upon you to choose. What do you say to the Goddess?
Option B: (This will be the path of Denna's defiance. She says "no" to the offer; and the Goddess won't be happy. I was thinking that she is either just sent back to the human "mistresses" who continue to abuse her or perhaps kept and punished in some way by her or some other angels. Sacu had the idea of Denna being sent to hell, which is of course also awesome and badass. Everything goes. If we need to, we can make it branch out into two different links as well)
